THE SHRINE OF OUR LADY OF POMPEII

The Shrine of Our Lady of Pompei at Urwa Church, Mangalore, was established in 1895, becoming a major pilgrimage site for Catholics in the region. Dedicated to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, it was popularized by Fr. A.J. D'Souza, who brought a sacred image from Pompeii, Italy, and initiated special Wednesday novenas and annual December feasts.
